9/26/2020 Knocking...

Hey everybody hows it going!!

So this week was really good, we got news that our mission got approved to start knocking doors again. They are rolling it out in a 4 phase project just to keep everyone safe and the mission wont actually be able to knock doors until November.. but since im going home this transfer they told me and my comps to get out and start knocking right now and test it out for an hour a day haha, so that was pretty cool and were able to meet our first latino contact!!! His name is jorge and him and his family are from mexico so hopefully this week we can meet with them.

We started our spanish teaching class and it was pretty good our group has about 89 members right now, and we have two scheduled lessons per week and we jave already met some really cool people and we will see where it takes us this week.

The rains have officially started here, so it always cloudy now but its getting me super excited for cold weather!!!!

Alright thats all for this week love you guys talk to you next week

Port townsend a.k.a. los boonies 9/21/2020

Whats up everyone hope you are all doing well.

So the smoke finally cleared up here and we were able to get outside again, and the week started off with zone conf. Which was a good spiritual boost and then i got to have my last interview with my president and that was really good, we talked about my mission and how i have changed throughout the past 23 months.

During the week we were able to meet with a woman named phyllis and we are teaching her, she is very interested in everything haha so we are judt taking it bit by bit with her.

We are on the hunt for latinos, port townsend is a big retirement island so its hard to find young people and especially hard to find latinos, so we are asking everyone if they know any. We have recieved a couple of tips that a woman from Colombia works at a grociery store haha so now we drive 45 minutes to shop there and hopefully run into her haha.

We started a spanish/english class for those who want to learn either languages and the first we had 54 people who came virtually haha so we may have bitten off more than we can chew... but hopefully this is a gold mine for us and we can get some teaching opportunities from it.

Love you all have a great week and share your testimonies

Pics we took some more long exposure pics on the beach, a keychain some members made for us, the red sun from the smoke(star wars vibes)

9/14/2020 La Ultima

Hey everyone so i havent written an email in a while so i thought i would update everyone real fast.

So i ended up getting transfered and now im in an english are on a little tiny island in the bay of northern washington. Im in a trio with two other reassigned missionaries that were serving in mexico.

So its actually been crazy smokey here these past couple of days due to all of the fires so that hasnt been super great because we havent been able to go outside.

But our president told us he wants to start a spanish branch up here so we need to start making the foundation for that, so if everyone could pray for the spanish work in port townsend that would be awesome!!

Its a really pretty area im surrounded by ocean everywhere i look, but that also seems to bring some very interesting kelp scent all the time.

We been mainly focused on doing service through facebook and its crazy how busy we've been, we basically just post in local groups saying we are doing free service and we usually get 3 to 5 people messaging about what we could do, so that has been really fun to be able to get to know so many people doing service.

So the other day we were walking around on p day and we saw a skate park right on the beach which led to an amazing looking skim spot.... hahaha so i picked the skatepark, we decided to walk in because i wanted to kinda check out the park. We were in church clothes so of course we got some stares from people, but one kid asked if i wanted to borrow a board and try skating and i said sure. Im not a very good skater but i love skating big bowls and there were two of them in this skatepark and nobody really touched them so i tried one then thrñe other and then dropped into the 1st again and people started to stare even more haha till the outside of the bowl was surrounded by skaters watching this wierd elder try to skate haha, but we ended up teaching three dudes including the one who let me borrow his board, his name is steven and they are all really cool guys and we have another meeting with them thid week so hopefully that goes well!!!

Alright love you all hope you have an amazing week!

Car Washing 7/17/2020

Yoooo do this week was pretty goood first off we have started doing a free car wash every saturday and it has been super fun we have met a lot of people all english speaking but we have still seen blessings in our own area from being diligent.

So i got to go on exchanges in my old area and i got to teach the flia salgado and it was awesome i loved seeing them again and they have their baptism this saturday so im super stoked for that!!.

We had a man call us saying that he really liked our videos on facebook and would like us to teach him. He is awesome his name is Enrique and is super interested in the restored gospel he's a stud and a hige blesssing for us.

So high key i have started to lose my spanish already so im pretty bummed about that.

We had dinner, a lesson, and the sacrament with the flia from the dominican republic again and they are still awesome i feel like the dad is one of my highschool buddies, they are super fun to be around. The daughter suffers from depression and doesnt have many friends but she says her week is 10xs better when we come over so that was freaking awesome to hear.

For p day we had a big waterballoon fight and had a bbq do that was awesome

Zone Conf 8/10/2020

Ok ok so we had a better week this week

So first off we had zone conference which was pretty good we had to keep it short due to virus restrictions but it was good to have a super spiritual meeting with our mission pres.

Then we had a dinner with a member anf get this she is from cordoba!!!! And i served in her area i passed by her old house everyday on the way to work so that was super fun to talk with her and she made us some empanadas so #blessingsfromargentina.

We ended up finding some one new to teach named rosa maria she is very interesting as we went and sat fown gor our first apointment she said i am athiedt thanks to god haha i burst out laughing it was a phrase i hadnt heard since argentina. She is from mexico and has about a million questions she likes to fight us on like if god saw the heart of abraham why did he ask him to kill his son and plenty of other questions similar. Me and my comp knew we were not there to fight and we answered each question with scripture and our testimonies and we actually managed to teach a lesson with her and she agreed to read the book of mormon and we go back to her house this week, haha so thats a very fun experience that keeps my knowledge and spanish on its toes.

Alright thats all for this week love you guys have an amazing week and dont forget to keep sharing your testimony

7/30/2020

Ok ok so got my first week down here in the new area and last transfer the area was blanked so we are having some troubles getting going haha

So here in this ward there is this family, the rojas family and they make up for about 70 percent of the ward and its leadership. Problem is they have all decided to go under a heavy self quarantine to protect their grandma. So they arent even taking our calls right now so the biggest challenge in this area will be connecting with the members.

Buuuttt we did get to meet with an inactive family from the dominican republic and ahh i love them some of the funniest people i have ever met i was ceying from laughter, but they are really awesome and we got invited back so we are hoping that this will open up some doors for us and we can start getting some investigators to teach!!

So this week i just want to invite you all to help out the missionary work in your area as members you are the legs us the missionaries right now they need all the help you can give so go on facebook and find the missionary page in your area and give the posts some love this helps the algorithm get the posts out to people in your area so non members can see it more often, so like comment and share and it will really help out the work, thanks you guys are awesome.

Ok so we had a super cool training this past week from a sister that was super good, so first she split us up into two teams elders vs sisters then she would put up four pieces of paper on the board that had an item written on them like a perfect car, unlimited bank account, popularity, and so forth. Now each round the elders and sisters would have to be in agreement on one of the four to get rid of, and so the game goes but towards the end the pieces of paper start to say family, temples, priesthood, church. But each time you still have to get rid of one thing so we always debated which of thr good things we could give up and then it came down to temple, family, testimony, and priesthood and she said ok out of all of these you can only keep one, wo after debating a lot we came to the conclusion that she knew we would get to and kept testimony.. which really opened my eyes temples can fall and be closed, converts often time have to leave or are disowned by family for following what they know to be true, and people of christ lived without priesthood before. But out of all those amazing things we were not willing to give up our testimonies, which i thought was crazy on the scale of importance i put that above my family?? But it showed us that our tetimonies are evwrything without them we are lost and who knows what qould happen if we dont have a testimony, temples and other things of that nature do not mean as much to us. Now if that is the sharpest most strongest tool we have we need to use it as much as possible, our new president has had us set goals for how often we can bear our testimonies in little ways throughout the week and it has really stretched me and helped me grow so i invite you all to do the same and use that strong tool you have.

Love you all hope you have an awesome week
