7/27/2020 Graham week 1

Ok ok so got my first week down here in the new area and last transfer the area was blanked so we are having some troubles getting going haha

So here in this ward there is this family, the rojas family and they make up for about 70 percent of the ward and its leadership. Problem is they have all decided to go under a heavy self quarantine to protect their grandma. So they arent even taking our calls right now so the biggest challenge in this area will be connecting with the members.

Buuuttt we did get to meet with an inactive family from the dominican republic and ahh i love them some of the funniest people i have ever met i was ceying from laughter, but they are really awesome and we got invited back so we are hoping that this will open up some doors for us and we can start getting some investigators to teach!!

So this week i just want to invite you all to help out the missionary work in your area as members you are the legs us the missionaries right now they need all the help you can give so go on facebook and find the missionary page in your area and give the posts some love this helps the algorithm get the posts out to people in your area so non members can see it more often, so like comment and share and it will really help out the work, thanks you guys are awesome.

Ok so we had a super cool training this past week from a sister that was super good, so first she split us up into two teams elders vs sisters then she would put up four pieces of paper on the board that had an item written on them like a perfect car, unlimited bank account, popularity, and so forth. Now each round the elders and sisters would have to be in agreement on one of the four to get rid of, and so the game goes but towards the end the pieces of paper start to say family, temples, priesthood, church. But each time you still have to get rid of one thing so we always debated which of thr good things we could give up and then it came down to temple, family, testimony, and priesthood and she said ok out of all of these you can only keep one, wo after debating a lot we came to the conclusion that she knew we would get to and kept testimony.. which really opened my eyes temples can fall and be closed, converts often time have to leave or are disowned by family for following what they know to be true, and people of christ lived without priesthood before. But out of all those amazing things we were not willing to give up our testimonies, which i thought was crazy on the scale of importance i put that above my family?? But it showed us that our tetimonies are evwrything without them we are lost and who knows what qould happen if we dont have a testimony, temples and other things of that nature do not mean as much to us. Now if that is the sharpest most strongest tool we have we need to use it as much as possible, our new president has had us set goals for how often we can bear our testimonies in little ways throughout the week and it has really stretched me and helped me grow so i invite you all to do the same and use that strong tool you have.

Love you all hope you have an awesome week

7/20/2020 Transfers

Hey guys so this week not much happened but it was still awesome.

So first off we were teaching the salgado family and this time their grandparents and a aunt were there, so it was big group and at the end everyone that was elegible accepted a baptismal date!!!!!! All 6 of them will be baptized the 22 of august.

Kinda bummy news i got transfered after being here for only one transfer im kinda sad to leave the salgados but i know they will continue to do great and im excited for this new area and to see what new good things will come of it. I will still be in a quad companionship but now it will be with only reassigned missionaries nobody actually from this mission haha so it should be interesting.

We are teaching another family the colemans and we have had a couple lessons with them now and the in the last lessons some of them began crying and really opening up to us and at the end they said they knew this was the path for them and asked about baptism!!! Its a family of 3 and so now they are also preparing for baptism this coming month.

Alright love you all hope you have an amazing week and remember to share your testimony whenever possible it is one of the sharpest tools we have, and we need to use it as often as we can.
I started putting a goal per day of how many times i could bear my testimony just in small ways and its been awesome so i invite you all to do the same!!

Rainer Pt 2 7/13/2020

Ok so this week wasnt too eventful but it was still really good,

So first off we went over to the salgados on saturday for dinner and to celebrate the birthday of gilbert the oldest son, and it was awesome haha typical south american party with crazy loud music and about 15 Hondurans showed up as well haha and tons of food it was so awesome i felt right at home and it made me miss argentina like crazy but also grateful to be here still teaching latinos even in the states.
After the party settled down a little (not much cause it never really settles down) we were able to teach a lesson with everyone and they loved it, i love the mom leidy she is so awesome and treats us like she is our mom and she has such a pure intrest in the church or jesus christ.
So they are progressing awesomely so keep the prayers up.

So we got to teach a lesson with our ward mission leader and a family, and this is the first time in my mission i have ever had a mission leader where i am serving. Turns out our mission leader served in ogden utah and while there a gringo from cali waiting on his visa for argentina came to that mission and my mission leader trained him, that gringo ended being my trainer 18 months later in argentina!!! Pretty crazy small world haha.

So we went to rainier again haha and it was pretty awesome again this time we went to a crazy waterfall so here are some pics.

Hope you guys have an awesome week!!!

The 4th 7/6/2020

Hey guys hows everyone doing???
So this week was awesome, so me and elder gillette one of my comps, he was also reassigned from the d r. So we were crazy hyped for the 4th of july because it seems like we havent had one in forever, and its my theory than when you leave this country and live outside of it for a while your patriotism grows x10 haha so we were pretty psyched.
And washington didnt disappoint we had fireworks constantly going off from july 3 to july 5 and it was awesome, all fireworks are legal here so they were going nuts for so long all day you could here popping of fireworks.
Then we had some american burgers with a family and the dad served in mexico and paraguay so we chatted a little bit and that was super fun and the burgers were awesome haha.

So i got to meet my new mission pres and he is awesome definitely callled of god, he is so in tune with the spirit. He said something i think was awesome, he said if you think this quarantine or pandemic is slowing our work down you could not be more wrong. The lord said he will hasten his work not slow it down and now this work is hastening at rapid speeds this work will never slowed down ever it will only get faster and faster till it reaches everyone. I loved that so much god saw this pandemic and we need to recognize that this is part of the plan this is meant to mold us into something new so i invite you all to find what god would like you to change during this time.

Ok so update on the salgado flia, we had another great lesson with them and it was awesome they loved it haha also the 9 year old boy asked me how many thorns were on the crown they put on jesus when he was crucified and i had no idea how to answer so i said no i didnt and asked him if he knew and he said yes there are 60 haha i asked him how he knew and he said he counted on the picture in the pamphlet haha i was dead.

Ok thats all for this week love you all have a great week
