Week 3 10/25/2018

heeeyyyyy everybody whats going on im 3 weeks in and loving it to death im sorry all of you are chilling in cold weather there here its about 80 degrees everyday with a huge rain storm every other day so this week went by ten times quicker than the last two which feels amazing my spanish was coming along pretty well until our two teachers said our lessons and classes are now only in spanish and if we speak a word of english we have to buy everyone candy that punishment isnt too bad for me because i constantly have treats in my bag its the only thing that gets me through ten hours of classes our district is super close now and we are all best buds but we only have two hermanas in our district so they dont love the mismatch but they are chill girls so its pretty sweet to have like 12 friends at my side constantly my favorite snacks here are bueno bars and gummy bears pretty much what i live on in between meals i have had some amazing spiritual experiences this week we had a lot of devotionals and one phrase i really love to hear is im giving up two years with my family so that others can be with them forever i love that so much it motivates me like no other i love having the testimonies of family and friends on my back at all times its the best sometimes i get discouraged because the work here is really hard with hardly any down time but any time i feel like this heavenly father sends me something to remind why im here almost everytime and that strengthens my testimony like crazy i wish you guys could feel the spirit that is always here i have always been the person that cant find the positives in things that are hard but here its really helped me change that i try to always have a good out look and i love how i feel now and everyone else has the same attitiude its cool we call it the attitiude of nephi but the crazy things that happened this week was the haircut appointments were all full so naturally i started giving all the elders in our house haircuts hahaha its was super funny and very stressful but they all turned out alright shout out to my mom for showing me the ways of the force. i got a halloween package from my mom this week and it was so needed my treats were running low along with my endurance and that package made my week it was so awesome and everyone was so jealous of me it was awesome i got to hammock a little which was awesome and bore my testimony in spanish in a devotional which was really scary but pretty awesome the pics this week are my district, package, hammocking. hope everyone is loving life i know i am and im super grateful for all of you love ya

hey everyone elder singley update first week i hope everyone is doing awesome at home. i have much stuff to tell you guys so it might be a longer email since its been like a week and a half. so the first couple days legit felt like years haha it was so bad and my whole district except the hermanas are staying in a house and its so sick we all have become so close just in a few days. our house has like 4 rooms and 4 elders to a room in my room its me elder coombs my companion elder carpenter and elder lines they are some pretty  cool guys there are nothing like me so it took some getting used to but i love these boys like my brothers now. one of the first things my companion told me is that his bladder is the size of a peanut hahaha so we constantly have to head to the bathroom even in big devotionals with the whole mtc oh and the mtc here is call ccm pronounced seh seh emeh and its such a cool place there are tons of palm trees everywhere and wild parrots flying around constantly. the only bad is they sqwak like no other so it makes it hard to consentrate but i love the atmoshpere here. the weather is pretty intense here one day its crazy hot then the next day insane lightning thunder and rain and i love it. all of the grass floods here everyother day you could say its a skimboarders paradise haha that was my first trial of faith. but its been awesome here im really starting to get into my groove and really learning a lot, also i think this is the hardest thing i have ever done in my life. i struggled big time the first couple of days with all the work we got assigned on the second day from now on to memorize 53 words 15 phrases and 3 scriptures all in spanish its was real tough then we had to say a prayer teach a lesson and give a talk to my zone all in spanish it was a lot to do haha. but it really taught me to do my best and then the lord with help me the gift of tongues or don del lenguas is really amazing i was teaching an investigator yesterday in spanish and when i went to testify of christ words literally flowed out of my mouth and somehow knew what i was saying it was a really cool experience and that investigator is reading the book of mormom now so its awesome. mexico city looks so freaking interesting it honestly looks like the movie rio and i kinda wish i could spend a month of my mission in mexico because its so cool and i have fallen in love with the latin people i try to talk to them any chance i get even if its in broken spanish haha. the 3rd night i was able to give my companion a blessing because he was having a hard time and that was also an awesome experience. oh haha also the alarm clock i have is pretty much useless because every morning we wake up early to either ambulance sirens or gun shots so its really interesting here and its also getting close to dia los muertos mexican halloween so fireworks are constantly going off but the ccm is surrounded by mountains that are more like big hills and there are little shack houses lined up almost to the top and it creates the prettiest view with the stars and lights from the houses. classes are long and hard my day pretty much goes most days like this first wake up at 5 and go on a run then come back around six and im last to shower so i only get cold water then we are ready and to breakfast at 7 then seven thirty our first class starts and goes till lunch at 12 then we get gym time and the sand volleyball here is crazy intense so its really fun then back to class till seven then dinner and after is personal and companion study till bed. something really cool about the ccm is that nobody here speaks full english its either spanglish or full blown latino spanish and it actually really helps my roommates tell me i sleep talk in spanish haha so you could say im a master at spanish now haha. well this is pretty long so i met send more next week but i have like 2 hours right now to email so if anyone wants to talk hit me up and letters and packages can be sent through dear elder. love you all im doing so awesome here i love it to death and no matter how hard it gets there is no place that i would rather be hope you all have an awesome week

hey everybody I made it here holy cow its nuts here the only way to describe it is its like the movie rio haha mexico city is so cool and colorful I met my companion elder coombs when I got here the flight was pretty good I basically the whole plane was missionaries but I sat next to a non member and we chatted about the church which was really cool ok I have to go but my p day is Thursdays and my district is D and my branch is 13 they told me to send you guys this stuff and I wont have p day this week so I can email again next Thursday I'm loving it here its so freaking cool and exciting I'm starving the only thing I have eaten today is peanuts but later tonight we have a pizza party and devotional so I'm excited for that love you all and love the lord
