Merry Christmas 12/25/2018

whats up everyone merry christmas hope you guys are having the best time.

so this week was pretty awesome summer officially started a couple days ago so now just about everyday is in the 100s haha so super hot but still feeling good.

     we didnt get to teach a lot this week just cause everyone was running around like crazy getting ready for navidad. but i got to skype home and that was so sick haha it made me super trunky for snow but still excited to be on the mish and it only grows each day and i love that feeling.

    we got to eat with a member family last night for christmas eve cause christmas eve is bigger than actual christmas day haha but it was awesome we had a huge carne asado and i ate so much meat i swear the amount of steak i have eaten here already is insane people here are just straight carnivores haha but definetly cant complain about that i love it.

  today we headed to cosquin again the area of our zone leaders cause its super pretty here so we have just been chilling here which is awesome its so crazy how different christmas is here compared to the states.

   but right now almost everyone in argentina is plastered drunk out partying in the streets so most of us missionaries are just chilling in our church playing uno and ping pong hahah.l

 not to much else happened this week update on scary guy who took my watch he found us again and got our number then later called us and said thank you for being his friend and he wants to completely change his life stop smoking go to church learn the gospel so that is freaking awesome haha what a story and we are heaeded over to his house on new years eve for another asado haha but yeah he is awesome and he also guards us from all the other guys who rob people so now we just have all the hookups so its sweet haha.

   not much else is going on right now but love you guys so much and hope you guys have the best christmas season i just wanna share how important christ is for me during this season seiously christ should be our best friend he went through something uncomprehendable soley for us that is so crazy to think about he is my greatest example of not only a missionary but a person in general this christmas i really focused on him and studied his life this week for 2 hours each day and i love i have for him is huge but is tiny in comparison to the love he and our heavenly father have for us he is our light in our life and we cant live without him make sure we let him into our lives he is standing there with arms wide open just waiting for us to ask i love him and my heavenly father and have an unshakeable testimony of this gospel and the blessing it is my life and the blessing it is in all our lifes love you all so much and am so gratefull for everything you all have done to help me get me to where i am today hope you have the best christmas

another week down 12/18/2018

hey everyone whats going on... cant believe its tuesday again it kinda blows my mind how fast everything is going by so this week was the week to be sick haha so im in a zone called punilla and its known for making missionaries sick so this week almost every missionary got sick two kids got it really bad and they are probably going to have to go home to get better so that super sucks and they have only been out here for 7 weeks so thats pretty bummy but that happened an hour away from me so praying im spared from that i got sick in like the middle of the week and i just was having hard stomach pain and headaches so we went to the hospital and the typical treatment for gringos who get any kind of sickness is a shot in the butt haha and its a classic story almost every missionary has including my comp but i just said i will deal with the pain so that kinda sucked but definetly coming off the back end of it now so feeling good

     so the heat has still been relentless and our weekly high for hours slept in the night is four right now haha so we are a little dead but still all good things are looking up with our investigators and i also got my first haircut in 19 years by somebody else other than my mom and that was interesting haha but it turned not to bad not my favorite but still good.

      we are trying something new this next week to try and find new people to teach and so me and my comp learned a bunch of spanish christmas songs and we are going to go to a super popular plaza and hook up an amplifier and play and sing christmas songs with a ukulele haha so that will be quite the adventurei will give you guys the update next week.

          these past two days we got to do entercambios with the zone leaders in their area and their area is known as the promised land haha so its been awesome the past couple days here in cosquin it looks like new zealand here its super pretty and the people are awesome but best of all its colder since its in the mountains so we finally got some sleep and that was an amazing blessing haha but its been really cool here and then today we had zone p day so i got to meet the rest of the missionaries in my zone which is super sick they are all way chill 

sketch experience this week so me and my comp were in a super sketch neighborhood visiting an investigator and some guy on a bike rode next to us while we were sitting down waiting for the investigator and he was like hey what are you guys doing and we said we were resting and waiting for someone and he looked at us super wierd and said really resting, without water nah you guys are lying haha so then we tried to convince him we really were just resting but then it got creepy and he told us everything we had done that day what we had been wearing earlier and exactly where we had been and exactly the time at any part of the day and i started to feel super worried it seemed like this guy had just followed us everywhere hiding then he asked a bunch of questions like why we were here where our apartment was then took a picture of us so at this point i already wasnt feeling the safest when i noticed he kept looking at my watch and my back pack and i thought to myself welp this is it about time i got robbed out here haha but then he just said wait here and he rode off then came back with some juice from a small store nearby and gave it to us and we drank a little but were kinda worried about getting drugged so we said thanks then started to walk away and he said hey wait i want your watch and it was a really cheap watch i just liked how it looked so i gave it too him hoping he wouldnt actually rob us haha then he proceeded to put it to his nose smell the whole thing then put it in his pocket and said good i will give this back to you a week from today at this exact time and said he will be able to find us haha so super creapy hoping nothing bad happens but yeah that was my experience for this week.

All I want for Christmas is air conditioning 12/11/2018

Hey everybody whats up it is week four out here in argentina and holy cow is it hot i figured coming from utah i would be a little bit accustomed to the heat well psych haha its technically still spring here and we are hitting up in the 90s these past couple days so its been crazy hot i already have some crazy good tan lines from my white shirts haha so that will be solid when i get back. tambien after walking around in the sun all day we go back to our house with no ac haha and it sucks we have an attic apartment and so it is literally blazing hot all the time so sleeping these past couple nights has been pretty much limited to a few hours each night so this week i was very physically and spiritually drained but last night i was pretty done with the heat so i called an ice cream store and 1 am and ordered a quart of ice cream hahaha and i ate it all that night and it was freaking delicious haha but probably not the healthiest. 

 So this week with investigators we are super close with three people two people from before i came here and then the girl i found named joana shes a stud and was definetly prepared for the gospel and me and my companion are seeing blessings left and right which is super awesome to start seeing our work paying off one thing that is pretty frustrating here with the people is the law of chastity and the word of wisdom i would say we teach these lessons at least twice a day everyday of the week haha pretty much everyone has a problem with these and for a couple to be baptized they have to be married and here marriage is not a thing haha its super expensive and they have to travel about 5 hours do get certified so its really hard for people to except this need but they are starting to see the importance and how it will bless their family which is awesome 

  ive gotten a ton of emails about other missionaries leaving and heading out which is so sick we are the army of helamen and we are bringing the world his truth

  so the highlight of this week was we got to travel about 2 hours up into the mountains of argentina to do some service all day. but it was at this man made lake thing a couple rich argentines had built for swimming and boating haha its super sick its literally in the middle of the jungle and they just irrigated all the creeks around to flow into this lake so it was super sick and we just got to help them prepare it so they could open in the summer for people to come swim and boat so that was super rad and im definetly going back after my mission to go swimming there haha the temptation was incredibly strong to swim that day haha but we stayed strong and settled with dunking our heads in the water.

     it seems so strange that christmas is right around the corner it doesnt feel like that at all here especially with the heat but here they dont decorate their houses or put up trees or anything so its just kinda strange pretty much the only thing that changes around here are the coke labels hahaha.

     we got to do our ward christmas dinner this week which was pretty fun we have a very small ward of about 20 people so it was small but fun so me and my comp showed up to the dinner after a long day of work super ready for some food but it turns out here ward dinners are basically you just bring food for your family and same with plates glasses and silverware so we just sat at our table without anything haha it was hilarious and old sister took pitty on us and gave us each a plate and some rice so that was super kind of her but yes that was our ward christmas dinner haha just a little different than utah.

    i love you all hope you are having the best christmas season i hope the snow is killer for some awesome snowboarding and hope you all spending time with your families cause being away on christmas kinda sucks haha but im defenetly beginning to fall in love with the grind here so cant complain love you all hope you have the best week.

also p.s. i am now more than 2 months into the mission not that im counting or anything but holy cow time flys 22 months more

Still grinding 12/4/2018

family and friends whats up its offically december and my hottest december of my life haha and its only supposed to get hotter blessings of argentina. haha so this week was loads better i finally started to settle in and get used to stuff here. so we taught a good chunk of investigators this week and got 6 to commit to come to church and five commited to baptism!!! awesome right? psych not a single one of them came to church and so in sacrament there was about 10 people including me my comp and the whole presidency haha so its super small here we talked to the investigators and they all said they were just asleep the culture here is incredibly lazy they arent really motivated for anything so this makes it frustrating and a little hard some times but the people are awesome during lessons i freaking love teaching its my favorite thing to just watch peoples eyes during the lesson and see the change ive only been here for 2 weeks but holy i love everyone they are just so funny and loving once you get past their borders so next i wanna ask you guys to send my companion some love and maybe send him an email he is almost headed home and doesnt have many people to write but hes been through some crazy stuff out on the mish that i dont think i could do so if you could do that it would be awesome . the bugs here are still crazy especially the grasshoppers they are huge they look like birds when they fly around. we had a district meeting so four other elders came to our apartment to have the meeting we made an asada just a bunch of steak cooked on a grill and it was pretty bomb haha. we have to wash our clothes by hand here and that is kinda the shaft it takes about an hour and a half to do then they gotta dry in the sun so still trying to  become super humble here. so the book of mormon is quite amazing i encourage everyone to start or keep reading it i have found a huge love for reading it which is crazy cause i hate reading but seriously it is the greatest book there is so much in every verse so much wisdom to help in life and i promise everything is easier in this gospel it seems hard at the beginning but seeing life without the gospel and seeing people break down crying because their mom died and they are 16 years old and have no idea what to do and think this is the end i feel so blessed to be able to be the one to bring that happiness back into their life and since its christmas season i want to encourage everyone to spread their joy with as many people as possible its crazy how the smallest things can affect peoples lives. also i want to ask everyone to be super gratefull this navidad i know i was bad at this but we have so many things we take for granted in the states especially during christmas time the people here start to cry out of joy when they know they will have a loaf of bread on christmas morning let alone gifts its so crazy for me to see that here so just wanted to share that with you all and i know you all already do this everyday and i love that in each one of you so much. i wanna end with a quote by joseph smith after all that has been said, the greatest and most important duty is to preach the gospel haha thats amazing im so crazy lucky to be out here.
